The successful candidate will have an elementary teaching certificate with an early childhood endorsement Pk/K or equivalent.  Candidate must have self-initiative, work as a team player, and be committed to enhancing children’s lives through education. Quality communication skills critical.

Part Time $7.75hr

The successful candidate will assist lead teachers with implementing curriculum in a creative, flexible learning environment within our early childhood classrooms.  A minimum of two years experience in early childhood is required and Early Childhood Technician or CDA is preferred. 

Receptionists

The successful candidates will have previous experience in a receptionist role, computer experience with the ability to learn new software, the ability to multitask, friendly phone etiquette, and the desire to work as a team to excel the YMCA to the next level.  Evenings and weekends required.

Sports, Aquatics, and Fitness Director 

The YMCA of Oskaloosa is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to lead our aquatics, sports, and fitness programs as we move our YMCA to the next level. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced program manager ready to develop their skills or a program director who needs a change of pace. The successful candidate will manage excellent programs and services consistent with our YMCA values while making member satisfaction and retention a priority. Responsibilities will include program development and evaluation, budget administration, and staff supervision and development. This position will oversee part-time aquatics, sports, and fitness program coordinators. The ideal candidate will be willing to be actively engaged in YMCA youth sports. Degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Recreation or related field required. Experience in sports programming and at least two years experience in program management required. YMCA experience preferred.

Youth Coordinator 

The Mahaska County YMCA has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated, action oriented, mission driven, team player to supervise quality after-school child care, summer camp, and develop new enrichment programs for community youth and families under the direction of the Child Care Director. The ideal candidate is willing to work at a high pace (nights and weekends often required), and will be an organized, energetic, outgoing self starter and able to multi-task. Must have a positive attitude and be able to build strong relationships with people in a friendly and consistent manner. The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

• Coordination of high-quality before and after school child care programming including programming, staffing, and meeting state licensing requirements.
• Coordination of summer day camp, including programming, staffing, and meeting state licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with organizations and schools to develop and implement youth and family programs that will meet the needs of the community.
• Staff recruiting, training and development with ability to direct a highly functioning team.
• Assist with the development and management of the program budget.
• Attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
• Support, participate in, and assist with other department events and projects as requested.
• Participate in staff trainings, conferences and other activities as requested.
• Assist with building tours as scheduled and as requested.

Fitness Coordinator 

The Mahaska County YMCA has a new and exciting opportunity for a Fitness Program Coordinator. The Fitness Program Coordinator, under the direction of the Sports, Fitness & Aquatics Director is responsible for the management and growth of our Fitness program including personal training and group fitness classes. The successful candidate will supervise, mentor and train staff while expanding the fitness program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct the development, promotion, implementation and evaluation for both the group fitness classes and personal training.
• Supervise all related department staff members, including hiring, training and evaluation.
• Develop, implement and maintain procedures, policies and activities that ensure the safety of participants and staff and the cleanliness of all related department program areas.
• Assist with the development and management of the program budget.
• Maintain open and frequent communication with participants and staff.
• This position will have some mornings, evenings and occasional weekend hours.
• Spend approximately 75% of time teaching fitness classes and/or providing personal training including substituting for other instructors as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested
