Oskaloosa YMCA Youth Football League

2010 Tackle Football     3rd-6th Grade

New this year, 3rd and 4th grade tackle football!!  The Oskaloosa YMCA Football League is a restructured program that began in 2009.  The sole purpose is to create a a stronger football program for the future and a greater knowledge of the skills and purpose of the game.  Football is more than just a game, it also creates character in a child and committment to a team.  The concept to develop, "a we not me attitude", is something that needs reinforced and will be tackled with the children enveloped in our program.  We want to create not just a stronger better football player, but rather a stronger, better leader.

Sign-up Dates:  March 1-July 31, 2010     Location:  Ongoing registration at Mahaska County YMCA.

Registration Fees:  5th-6th Grade:  $85.00

                              3rd-4th Grade:  $70.00

(Members will receive a $10.00 Discount)

                              Second Child Discount:  20% off

Registration will not be accepted after July 31st 2010.

First Practice:  August 30, 2010    Practice Times: Varies    Practice Location:  Lacey Complex

Game Days:  Saturdays (alternate days may be required due to weather)

Game Dates:  September 4 - October 16

Game Times:  9 am - 1 pm    Game Locations:  Lacey Complex, 2060 238th Street, Oskaloosa

Game Notes:  5th and 6th grades will participate in a traveling league and play out of town games throughout the season.  3rd and 4th graders WILL NOT travel for games this year.

Equipment Needed: 

Provided by the player:  football cleats, mouth guard, and socks. 

Provided by the YMCA:  Helmet, shoulder pads, pants, and hip, thigh, and knee pads

Special Team Requests:  Special Team requests will only be guaranteed for immediate family members.
