CHILD CARE sponsored by

Our Infant, Mobile Infant, and Toddler classrooms combine early childhood care and education in the same high quality environment using Creative Curriculum. We offer our services to children ages six weeks through five years.

Classrooms for children ages 0-2 are offered at the Mahaska YMCA Kids’ Corner building which is located in University Park. Classes for the three-, four-, and five-year-olds as well as the Wrap Around Child Care Services are located in the Webster Preschool Partnership building.

We access consultation services through Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R), Early Childhood Iowa (ECI), ISU Extension, and the YMCA of the USA to support our quality initiatives.

Child Care Hours:

  • Kids’ Corner Building Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Webster Building Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Early Learning

In the fall of 2013, Kids’ Corner Child Care Center and the Mahaska County YMCA merged child care and preschool services for children birth to school age. The new program is called Mahaska Early Learning Program.

At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success.

Join the YMCA for a fun and educational afterschool experience. Afterschool with the Y will provide your student with opportunities to grow and succeed in the classroom. We will be focused on increasing your students literacy skills, provide homework assistance, get them up and moving, and introduce them to the wonderful world of STEAM!
