E-Sports Program
Ready to level up your gaming experience? Our E-Sports Program provides a fun, welcoming environment where young gamers can connect, compete, and build friendships while enjoying some of today’s most popular Nintendo games.
Participants will use our Nintendo Switches to practice and compete in Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros., developing gaming skills, sportsmanship, strategic thinking, and teamwork along the way. This program is designed to meet kids at their level, whether they’re new to gaming or experienced players looking to sharpen their skills.
More than just playing games, participants will build camaraderie, form new friendships, and become part of a positive gaming community in a structured and supervised environment. Our focus is on creating a fun social experience where kids can connect with others who share similar interests while enjoying friendly competition.
Program Details
- Dates: Mondays, November 2 – December 14 (No program November 23)
- Time: 5:30-6:30 pm
- Member Cost: $50
- Non-Member Cost: $75
- Games: Mario Kart & Super Smash Bros.
- Equipment: Nintendo Switches provided

Sports Sampler Program
Looking for a fun way to introduce your child to sports? Our Sports Sampler Program is designed for young athletes to explore a variety of sports in a positive, encouraging, and active environment!
Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of soccer, football, and basketball through age-appropriate games, activities, and skill-building exercises. This program is perfect for children who are interested in trying new sports, discovering what they enjoy, and building confidence while staying active.
Whether your child is new to sports or eager to try something different, Sports Sampler provides a fun, low-pressure experience focused on learning, teamwork, and having fun.

Youth Volleyball League (Grades 1-6)
YMCA Youth Volleyball League
Bump, set, spike — it’s time for volleyball! The YMCA Youth Volleyball League is designed to help kids build skills, stay active, and have fun in a supportive team environment. Players will learn the fundamentals of passing, serving, setting, and teamwork while developing confidence both on and off the court.
Each team will have a weekly practice on Thursdays to build skills and prepare, followed by games on Saturday mornings where players can put their practice into action. Our focus is on teaching the game, encouraging sportsmanship, and creating a positive experience for every child — whether they’re brand new to volleyball or looking to grow their abilities.
Program Highlights
Weekly Thursday evening practices at 5:30-6:30pm
Saturday morning games at 9am against other Mahaska YMCA teams
Emphasis on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship
Welcoming environment for beginners and experienced players
Volunteer coaches supported with resources and training
