From avid basketball fanatics to individuals taking their first steps on the hardwood, the Youth Basketball Program at the YMCA is a slam dunk! With activities designed to get all the young hearts pumping, this basketball session will help your child develop a better understanding of the game.
The youth basketball program is a six week long commitment. The kids are split into three groups: K-2 boys and girls. 3rd-5th grade girls, and 3rd-5th grade boys. Each group meets for an hour. The program progresses every week working on the fundamentals of basketball. Throughout the program the kids participating will learn about the following skills: shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defense, and basic basketball terms.
